AIM WA+UWA Business School Executive Education - Strategic Social Media short course (WA intake) - 2019

The Bankwest Foundation and the AIM WA UWA Business School Executive Education support the ASF initiative to enhance the management and accountability of not-for-profit organisations by partnering with us to offer up to ten 100% scholarships for those living in WA and working for not-for-profit organisations in Western Australia to attend the Strategic Social Media short course in August 2019.

Scholarship Overview

 

Social media has a role to play in every organisation, in every industry. It enables engagement with a range of stakeholders not possible on any other marketing channel. It also enables access to market information not possible on any other marketing channel. It is about far more than just the technology, though, and that is what this program will cover.

 

This program will cut through the hype around social media at a tactical level, and shed light on the strategic issues in social media marketing. Social media is not about Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn. It is about a paradigm shift in marketing and business generally that requires significant strategic change.

  • Evaluation and return on investment (ROI).

The program will be full of examples of best practice, case studies, and will include two industry site visits. it will also assist you in setting up your own personal brand on social media.

 

 

Learning Outcomes:

As a result of this program participants should be able to:

  • Demonstrate critical thinking skills around social media in marketing and the organisation
  • Demonstrate critical thinking skills around the theory underpinning social media
  • Understand how to develop an organisational culture appropriate for modern marketing
  • Understand how to develop a marketing strategy facilitative of customer engagement
  • Evaluate and analyse the metrics that indicate a return on investment from social media

 

Who Will Benefit:

This program is aimed at leaders and strategic decision makers in organisations, and complements an existing understanding of marketing principles.

 

COURSE DETAILS:

Duration: 5 days

Date: Monday 19 - Friday 23 August, 2019

Time: 8:30am - 4:30pm AWST each day

Location: AIM WA Floreat - 76 Birkdale Street, Floreat WA 6014


Scholarship Inclusions:

 

There is 10x 100% scholarships available to those living in WA and working for not-for-profit organisations in Western Australia. The scholarships are valued at $5,720 each and cover all associated course fees.

 

The successful candidate (or their supporting NFP organisation) will be required to cover travel and/or accommodation (if necessary) to attend the course in Perth.

Eligibility Requirements:

Applicants must:

  • live in WA and work for a charitable not-for-profit organisation based in Western Australia
  • be an Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident
  • fulfill ASF's general eligibility requirements available on our FAQ's page
  • hold a senior management, leadership and/or marketing role within their organisation

Your employing organisation must:

  • be an ACNC registered charity or NFP incorporated association
  • provide a program or service that supports people living in Western Australia
  • not support activities that could be considered discriminatory, political, or religious advocacy or activism in any way

Indigenous Australians are encouraged to apply.

 

Scholar Surveys:

All applicants (regardless of the outcome of their application) may be asked to complete a series of surveys about their expected and realised learnings (once before and on a few occasions after the course). Your survey responses will help us to quantify the impact of our scholarships and will help attract funding for education and training for the NFP sector in the future. Your feedback is extremely valuable to the work we do and by completing these surveys you'll be making an important contribution to the future of ASF and the NFP sector overall.

Selection Criteria
The Scholarship is awarded jointly by ASF, AIM WA+UWA Business School Executive Education and the Bankwest Foundation to applicants who are Australian citizens or permanent residents employed by a charitable not-for-profit organisation and whose completion of the program would, in ASF's view, benefit their employing NFP organisation. Selection is based on the applicant meeting AIM WA+UWA Business School Executive Education's entry requirements for the nominated program and written endorsement from the respective charitable organisation. Applicants must also be living and working in Western Australia to be eligible for this scholarship.
