Deakin University - Masters of Laws (LLM) Scholarship - 2020

The Faculty of Business and Law at Deakin University is offering up to 10 scholarships per year to eligible students who have applied for the Masters of Laws (LLM) program at the Deakin Law School. 

Program Overview

Deakin’s Master of Laws has a focus on international commercial law and corporate regulation. The course will equip you with fundamental disciplinary knowledge on important areas of the Australian and international legal system and recent professional practice developments.The course covers new developments in major areas of human activity (health, financial services, corporate governance), and increased regulation in traditional areas (dispute resolution, human rights, tax) to equip you with a high level of knowledge for an advanced legal career. The eight credit point course can be completed in one year (full time). On completion you will have developed advanced research, analytical, evaluative and communication skills to prepare you for leadership roles in a variety of global careers.

Deakin University are delighted to offer a fee reduction of $6000 for the duration of the course ($750 per credit point). This scholarship is available for the normal duration of the course (one year full-time or part-time equivalent).


Eligibility criteria:

Applicants must satisfy all of the following criteria:

  • completion of a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree or equivalent, with not less than four years of full?time study at a university or other approved educational institution
  • minimum Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 60 in LLB or equivalent
  • demonstrated English language competency at band B; overall 6.5, no band less than 6.0
  • Minimum of two years’ work experience in law or a law?related field.


Selection Criteria:
Students who meet the eligibility criteria will be automatically assessed for the scholarship and will be advised of the outcome. 

How to apply:

This scholarship does not have a closing date as no applications are required. Students who apply to the Masters of Law (LLM) course are automatically considered for the scholarship. Find out more HERE.
