CPA Australia - CPA Program Scholarship - 2019/20

CPA Australia and the Australian Scholarships Foundation (ASF) offer up to five 100% scholarships annually. The purpose of the scholarship is to enable managers and financial officers of registered charitable organisations to enhance their knowledge and skills to further contribute to the management and accountability of charitable not-for-profit organisations.

Scholarship Overview

Internationally recognised, the CPA Program ensures you will be well equipped to tackle any of the challenging accounting, finance or business situations faced in today’s global marketplace. Providing you with more than a technical accounting focus, the CPA Program goes beyond the numbers, teaching the skills to help you reach the next level in leadership, strategy and business.

The CPA Program education component comprises four compulsory subjects (Ethics and Governance, Strategic Management Accounting, Financial Reporting, Global Strategy and Leadership) and two elective subjects*.

The CPA Program scholarship entitles recipients to an exemption from all CPA Program subject fees. The award covers course enrolment fees starting from the date awarded.

*If you have already completed recognised studies in tax and auditing, you may choose any elective, otherwise you must select Australia Taxation, or the local taxation variant, and Advanced Audit and Assurance.

Successful applicants in this scholarship round will be given the choice of beginning their studies in either Semester One or Semester Two in 2020.

  • Semester One: starts late January 2020 (date TBC)
  • Semester Two: starts July 2020 (date TBC)

CPA Program Testimonials:

Meredith New

"The CPA Program has consolidated my knowledge and helped me to gain valuable skills that I use in my work every day. Working at a small not-for-profit, it is essential that I have the financial, accounting and business competency which the CPA Program provides. The scholarship has allowed me to work more effectively and bring a greater contribution to the not-for-profit sector."

~ 2019 scholarship recipient - Meredith NewFinance and Compliance Officer at Good2Give

"Getting the scholarship was one of the most exciting things to happen to me in years. Every subject, every module enriches my knowledge and I can see how it can be applied to my day-to-day work. I can definitely see the difference in my decision-making process and the way I see accounting practice now.

The fact that CPA is flexible allows me to use a self-paced approach which has helped me maintain a balance between my personal, work and academic life; being able to be a mum, worker and student all at the same time - who would have thought this would be possible?"

~ 2018 scholarship recipient - Luisa Diaz-Zeledon, Regional Accountant at Anglicare Victoria. Read more about Luisa's story here.
