Bankwest Foundation Community Leader Scholarship Program Governance Institute of Australia - Certificate in Governance and Risk Management (WA intake) - July / November 2019
The Bankwest Foundation and the Governance Institute support the ASF initiative to enhance the management and accountability of not-for-profit organisations by generously offering 6x full scholarships for those living in WA and working for not-for-profit organisations in Western Australia to attend the Certificate in Governance and Risk Management program in July or November 2019.

Scholarship Overview The Certificate in Governance and Risk Management provides essential knowledge for anyone with governance and risk management responsibilities. Designed and taught by renowned practitioners, you will gain a clear introduction to specialist topic areas and the important issues in relation to governance and risk management principles, frameworks and approaches.
It is designed to address the learning needs of individuals with varying levels of risk management responsibility with a focus on assisting participants in identifying, understanding and applying the crucial elements involved in organisational risk management and compliance.
The certificate runs over a 3-day intensive program and is comprised of six courses, as below: Day 1 Day 2 Day 3 Subject to availability, students may complete alternative short courses to those listed above to fulfil the requirements of the Certificate.
To graduate from a Certificate, you must complete and pass the online multiple choice exams for each of the six short courses required for your Certificate, within a 12-month period.
Who Should Attend: NFP professionals including board secretaries and senior managers that interact with boards, CEOs, CFOs, board and committee members, general managers, treasurers and governance professionals. Scholarships are available to WA-based board members and senior professionals of charitable not-for-profit organisations who meet agreed selection criteria.

Scholarship Inclusions:
There are 6x 100% scholarships available to those living in WA and working for not-for-profit organisations in Western Australia. The scholarships are valued at $3570 and cover all associated course fees. Travel and/or accommodation (if necessary) is to be covered by the successful candidates or their NFP organisation.

Scholar Surveys: All applicants (regardless of the outcome of their application) may be asked to complete a series of surveys about their expected and realised learnings (once before and on a few occasions after the course). Your survey responses will help us to quantify the impact of our scholarships and will help attract funding for education and training for the NFP sector in the future. Your feedback is extremely valuable to the work we do and by completing these surveys you'll be making an important contribution to the future of ASF and the NFP sector overall.

Selection CriteriaThis scholarship may be awarded to an applicant who: is a director of or employed as a senior executive by a charitable not-for-profit organisation in Western Australia; is an Australian citizen or permanent resident; has demonstrated previous achievement, organisational support and demonstrated leadership. Applicants are required to include an endorsement letter from their NFP organisation. |
