Good Governance for Charities and Not-for-Profits on Frontlines

Hosted by the Governance Institute of Australia

As a result of the recent Australian bushfires and the COVID-19 pandemic, charities and NFPs are not only playing a more crucial role than ever, but are also facing a range of unique challenges. Our friends at the Governance Institute of Australia have identified some of the many of the challenges impacting the delivery of sustainable services in the NFP sector, including the need for:

  • Urgent regulatory reform, especially in fundraising
  • Strengthened governance systems to gain continued community support for operations
  • Sector sustainability through the recovery phase – workforce, fundraising, resources, revenue and bridging finance

To address these challenges, Governance Institute of Australia are hosting an online briefing session on Thursday 18 June 2020 from 11:00am-12:30pm. The session will also discuss the ACNC response to COVID-19, cornerstones for good governance and decision-making, and the role, influence and impact of sector directors during a crisis.

Join a panel of NFP experts, including David Crosbie of Community Council for Australia, Sue Woodward of Justice Connect, Belinda Dimovski of the Australian Red Cross and Anna Longley of the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission.
